Hey, i have had this issue many times but one day i thought, why i dont update the texture to 16*16 and then i went to the jar with winrar, changed the lava_flow resolution to normal and it worked! (Note, i used the default resource pack/preinstalled one)(Note, if you are using a resourcepack this might not work for you)
yep, same nothing happens when i click "view crash report" but i went to the minecraft folder (Windows C:\Users*Your Username*\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\logs) there you can click "latest.log" and you'll see the latest log as the name says xD
