My specs:

Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ SM-N975U
One UI Version 3.1
Android Version 11
Kernel Version is dated Oct 25 09:42:46

Amazon Appstore 32.88.0000

And, yes, I installed the Amazon App Store on the device alongside Google Play.

I am experiencing the same problem from an Android phone (Galaxy Note 10+, Android 11).  It works fine on my child's Kid's Fire Tablet, though.

On my phone, I even tried uninstalling/re-installing both the Amazon App Store and Minecraft.  Still getting .17.41 as the newest version.

This is impacting my Bedrock MineCraft server for my son who plays from his Android tablet.  Almost every time he logs off/on, he is treated as a new player with no experience or items. He stores his gear in a chest every time but it is frustrating to lose it all if he gets disconnected and to lose the experience every time.  He does NOT have an Xbox Live ID/xuid.  This does not affect me and I also play primarily from android (phone), but I DO have an Xbox Live ID.

Update: I tested a few scenarios and this is what happens from an Android device running PE without an Xbox Live account:
-Left the server world and rejoined w/out closing app. Player is NOT reset.
-Left the server world, closed the app, and restarted/rejoined. Player IS reset.
-Left the server world, kept PE open on android and restarted the actual bedrock server on our server computer, rejoined the world and player is NOT reset.
-While in server world, restarted application abruptly. Player IS reset.

Conclusion: Closing the Minecraft PE app appears to be when the player is reset.  Even bouncing the server itself doesn't cause the problem as long as Minecraft PE remains open on the Android device.

Note: Clients and server are all running version 1.16.221

Update: I have also noticed that the manifest in the worlds/myworld/db directory is growing larger.  There are now over 100 "server_player_blahblahblah" instances and my son and I are the only ones who play on this server on our LAN.  It seems it is creating a new entry for him each time.  I've also tested from other android devices and the findings above hold consistent, so it is not just his tablet.
