This happened to me in 1.8.8 I made a dock with soulsand because I had heard it stopped the boat from breaking, this was not the case... The boat broke and (at the same time?) I died due to "fall damage".

I have an addition to this problem, Minecraft Windows Edition freezes for a little while and then somehow takes control and mutes ALL sound on my computer. The volume icon does not have an 'x' like it's muted the normal way and the sound pillars move up and down like there should be sound.
This does not happen with any other program.

This still happened to me in 1.8.8. I thought it was resolved.
