@Guy No. I didn't do DDU. What I did is a reinstallation, but without deleting first. I can't test it right now, I'm very busy. Maybe I can take the test over the weekend.
Hello. Greymagic27.
I have not had free time to play again and carry out new tests, but as far as I have been able to verify with the community on Discord, as David Wang has commented, it does not seem to be a hardware problem. At least in my case.
Everything on my computer works correctly and is up to date.
And as I said before, in my last test, as long as I have a program making sound before running Minecraft, no errors occur.
Everything seems to indicate that there is a problem in version 1.20.2 because it did not occur before.
Well. I have carried out new tests. This time I had the music player running previously. I started the game, and there was no lag and the sounds from both the music player and the game could be heard. Closing Minecraft also didn't give me the error window -1073740791.
All while the music player was running.
The bug definitely arises when you start the game without having the device playing some other sound.
The test was done using the notebook's speakers. No headphones were used at any time.
I attach an illustrative photo of how the fps are within the expected values and the player working simultaneously. And I also add a new copy of the logs during this test.
Okay. From now on I will go back to my original ticket. I will try to do more tests and investigate more about the error.
Did OuterTapdole123 also have a lag problem when you played version 1.20.2? or was it just an audio problem? By chance, is what was mentioned in report MC-265594 the same thing that happens to you?
TheRealMaxefaxe Do you play with any sound source running in addition to the game? By any chance when you finish the game you get the error code -1073740791? I am trying to faithfully determine if there is a correlation between the lag, the audio problem and the error message to make a better report of the case so that the people at Mojang take it into account and analyze them as a single big problem. Or do you just have lag and audio problems? I have problems with 3 things: lag, audio and the error message.
In my case I have updated Windows and the drivers as well.
I partially solve the audio and lag problem by raising and lowering the volume when I start the game. But the error code -1073740791 still appears at the end when close the game.
I don't usually have another app making sound while I play because it distracts me. I could try to see what happens if I start the game with some other application making sound.
Hello Greymagic27, Excuse my insistence but it is precisely because of the way in which I am experiencing these 3 problems, simultaneously, that I come to the conclusion that each one is a symptom of the same disease and should be seen together.
The audio problem, which occurs from the beginning of the game. Due to some failure in the reading/initialization of the audio subsystem that the game has.
The lag problem is precisely because in a very short period of time it occurs multiple times because you are trying to read a lost goat sound. Which is also seen in log. This reading is executed so frequently that it hogs all the resources and makes it difficult for the game to execute the rest of the commands/events such as moving, activating something, etc.
The error code is perhaps the most difficult to explain, but the most obvious thought is that if the game experiences a problem when starting the system that is responsible for handling the audio, it also has a problem when finishing the game.
But hey, they are points of view. I just hope that nothing is left unchecked and hope that this is resolved soon.
I initiated ticket MC-265594, which was closed and resolved and is referred to me here. And I'm not sure if the problem described in this ticket accurately represents the case I make. I pointed 3 things on my ticket:
1. Lack of audio
2. A lag problem
3. An error message (error code -1073740791) that appears when closing the game.
And it seems that the 3 things are related. This ticket only discusses the audio issue only.
My question is, are these 3 problems going to be analyzed separately? Or are you going to consider analyzing globally?
I experience the same problem. Although in my case I can add that it also affects the audio. I have commented on my case here:
@TheRealMaxefaxe do you have sound in the game? The only way I have gotten sound is by raising the volume to 100% and returning to the initial value. This causes the sound to be restored and the lag to disappear. I have to admit that I have not tried spawning a goat to see if its sounds can be reproduced. The error seen in my log suggests that there are problems there. What worries me is the error code that appears when I close Minecraft. Does it happen to you too?
Well, I have found a new development in the case.
I generally play with low volume (20%) and rarely use headphones. My surprise was that raising the volume to 100% and then returning to the usual volume restored the sound and the "lag" disappeared.
In principle, this solves the problem. But when I exit the game I still get the error message.
I am attaching new log files.
I have tried making a new world (in creative) to better appreciate the performance. I didn't experience lag.
From what I have seen in the log, the same problem continues in Warn Missing sound for event: minecraft:entity.goat.screaming.horn_break. That makes me think that if I found a goat I might not experience that sound, or worse... the game would crash. 😞
I ask, is it justified to open a specific error ticket for this problem (sound), and another for the error screen (error code -1073740791), or would it be enough to leave this one open?
ajffsodp I have already mentioned that I have tried other games and the equipment works correctly. It's not a PC, it's a notebook.
It's not so "gaming" but I think what I have is quite reasonable:
Procesador: AMD Ryzen 7 4800H with Radeon Graphics 2.90 GHz
RAM: 16 GB
Graphic Card: NVIDIA Geforce GTX 2060
I have checked the audio and video drivers. And they are both fine.
I've played other games, and they all work well.
I have tried making a backup, and reinstalling version 1.20.2 (not snapshot) and it still has the same problem. Possibly the same thing must be happening to others, although I have not seen other reports of this type.
Due to the error that has been mentioned before and can be seen in the log, which is occurring too frequently/sec, the game is experiencing this "lag" problem. Both effects are related. I have attached a screenshot in a test world in which I design my buildings. The world is completely flat (using the "redstone ready" template) and I barely have 2 medium builds and nothing else. You can see that the fps are 1 to 2. Impossible to play like this.
I have not been able to take time to verify the operation of both the video card and the sound card with another game. But so far my equipment is working fine.
I'm watching videos and listening to music without a problem.
Due to the number of times/sec of error it appears in the log, I'm thinking that this could be the reason for the "lag" that I appreciate.
I am not experiencing problems with my internet connection. And I don't play on servers, only local.
NguyenFranky I apologize if I have not been too clear in reporting the problem.
I didn't know whether to deal with the lag and sound problems separately or together. Since I am not sure if both phenomena are related.
I agree that the term "lag" may not have been the most appropriate. My fault. What I really notice is that the game runs slowly, the mere fact of walking or turning means that the movement is not fluid, but clumsy/stuck. Notice that I play locally, I do not connect to servers.
I have updated the Launcher; supposedly. Every time I start it it checks for updates.
I haven't had time to do DDU, but tonight I tried starting the game after several days. The Launcher has been updated and has proceeded to download the new minor version/subrelease of 1.20.2. And the game started with sound, there was no lag. At the end of the game the error message -1073740791 did not appear either. Obviously they have fixed it among the bugfixes of this latest update because I have not made any changes to the drivers, or GPU, or anything.
