I confirm that’s still happening in Bedrock v1.18.12 in the PS5. 

I currently have two villager children stuck in one chest. I wonder if they will grow up and breed?

I have this problem as well. No idea when it appeared as I’ve never traded with shepherds before.

First time I traded with the shepherd I was offered white wool. 
Went off to get some. Came back and the trade had changed to black wool. 
Went and got some black wool. Shepherd still won’t trade. 
I have 81 wool in my inventory but the shepherd will not accept a trade. 

running Bedrock v1.18.2

"My guess is they haven't figured out why it isn't working."

Joshua already developed and posted a fix back in July. Perhaps the programmers could ask him how to fix their code?
