I'm not a MC dev, but a fix should just require checking for grass or snow above air blocks. I expect this would add some small load during chunk generation, but it isn't the same as a fix for suspended sand/gravel (which IMHO would be recursive in nature). Not that the latter is the same kind of problem, but it's another example of generate-then-sweep behavior.

Given the pack version changed (however unexpectedly), my question now is where does one find details about the differences between version 6 and version 5?

So I've been using the 1.16.1 line without even knowing this was happening, right through 1.16.2 pre 3. Indeed, in pre 3 I now see the default claims to be "incompatible" as this ticket presents.

But issue MC-197396 is what led me here, because suddenly in 1.16.2 rc 1 all the "Available" resource packs are "incompatible" and are deselected, but you can't even make out which is which thanks to the overlaid warning text.

First, why did the default format version change during a minor bugfix release?

Second, if this is going to be the default version now, despite the fact that old packs still clearly work to a large extent (again, I've been running just fine not even knowing this change even occurred), at least make the pack name legible instead of totally obscuring it in the chooser.

Horses have always done this in my experience, but only today did I bother to read up on why... but here we are and apparently, it's not normal after all.

I'm running 1.15.1 (Java edition), and it happened a bit ago while out riding. Oddly, it's not easy to reproduce this (I just now ran around an are for a couple of minutes and it didn't happen). Is it related to chunk loading perhaps? If I get any useful data I'll reply with it.

While quirks can be interesting, this one is just ugly... not to mention dangerous in the case of floating snow over lava - a jarring reminder this bug is more than annoying. It'd be really nice to see this fixed when it comes to grass, snow, etc.

The server I use updates automatically to the latest snapshot within an hour or two of its release.

This bug was a problem for me in previous snapshots, depending on the direction the hive faced (hives facing North or West worked, but in other directions they would exhibit this bug). I put them all facing north and it's worked for quite a while... til today.

Now with 19w46a none of the bees are exiting the hives that previously worked as recently as a day ago.

This isn't actually resolved - the problem exists in 18w46a (Illagers are spinning in 1-deep water with seagrass).

Still in 18w46a - I have two Illagers in some water nearby who have been spinning on seagrass for many in-game days now. Normal game, no mods, cheats enabled but no cheats in use. I'd feel sorry for them if they weren't so shooty...
