do you use bluetooth if so use wired if not its the wire as mine works or dead battery!
do you have the online subscriptions(not needed for pc) if not its that but if not it may be your friends firewall is blocking you from accessing the world
i have this same problem id reccomend save your saves and re-install minecraft
i managed to fix it it was just a mod issue
