Well that's curious indeed, since I have both an AMD CPU and GPU. Also, the ticket this is supposedly a duplicate of doesn't include anything about an illegal instruction exception, just the access violation.

Still present in 1.9 snapshots (as of 15w35a). The sheep I saw didn't seem to be suffocating, though.
