Video proof. The skeleton doesn't catch fire unless I push it out of the double tall grass. He then tries to find another safe spot in the grass.

Try doing it in an open plain, with more naturally-spaced flowers and grass. But I agree, it does sound like a feature... from Pokemon ^_
