I'm having this issue in my world. It seems to be raining and Riptide does work, but my Channelling Trident isn't working on lighting rods. If I sleep while it's raining at night, ten minutes later it starts raining again.

This also happens with thunderstorms: I got 3 different thunderstorms in 30 minutes, but none actually spawned lightning.

Sleeping (during thunderstorms or rain at night) or re-logging seem to work sometimes, but not always.

I think this also affects other versions, such as all 1.17.0 versions, all 1.16.0 versions, and more

I've found a solution: download a VPN (best free VPN is TunnelBear), set the location to another country ( I've used the USA, i live in The Netherlands). Now login to your Microsoft account on Minecraft. It should work, then you can deactivate the VPN. You should be able to acces all realms, servers, marketplace and yout skins now.

I also noticed it, and added screenshots (with/without pauze screen) im on android version 9.0 and i think i was on MC version 1.14.20
