I suggest reverting the redstone output.  We can already get output via comparator and boost the signal with a repeater.

I know I've had this problem when opening the recipe book in survival then switching to creative and pressing E. Closing the recipe book seemed to fix this at least for my case.

I'm sure if there was a good solution to fix this they would. Only solutions I can think of may cause lagg in those areas. Though I'm a novice programmer at best.
