In my game, items were fine until I updated the game to 1.17.10. I'm not sure if it's as bad for others as it is for me, but I'll post some recordings. I play on Windows 10, and the game fps are on the top left of the screen to show that it's only the items staggering and not the game fps.

I think this person is having similar issues as me. I noticed after updating to 1.17.10, dropped items were staggering when blocks are broken, almost like their fps dropped. This also occurs when dropping an item from the inventory, but its more noticeable with breaking blocks. This wasn't an issue with my game as a whole as you can see the game's fps is in green on the top left of the screen.
