The same thing happened to me but on the hive
It still happens in 1.17.2 but after it happens the game crashes (PS4)
It is supposed to be use the sword not the book it self
Yh well the hive community Manager said there devs are finding a way to fix this Steve bug btw the Steve bug also happened to me in cube craft on the PS4
This issue is also on switch and has been reported to the hive server community Manager and developers so it should be fixed
It is also happening to me on Pocket Edition
Everyone pls vote if you want this bug to be fixed
