Just added a video to the Jira attachments on this issue showing the phenomenon on my Realm.

Update: Uninstalling and re-installing made no difference. 😞
Oh no!!! I must have angered the Minecraft Gods! All my skins have disappeared and changed back to Steve and Alex default. Argh!!!!
This bug:
1. Has been open since September 2021
2. Has 149 duplicate bugs that have been set to "resolved" and linked back here.
3. Badly affects the enjoyment and playing experience:
Cannot write on signs (signs broken)
Cannot name maps (cartography table broken)
Cannot label weapons, armour, any item (anvil broken)
Cannot name mobs (nametags broken)
4. Only affects users who PAY MONTHLY FOR A REALMS SUBSCRIPTION
5. Has noone assigned to it in Jira
6. Has no response from devs saying they are working on it or giving it priority.
I don't know how the rest of you feel, but this has been personally devastating for me and my kids. I think even a response from the team explaining why this has not been resolved would make all the difference. We completely stopped playing over the last 6 weeks, and went back today hoping it had been fixed.

I have left a comment on the window store rating the game 5*, with the title "Great game, but no support for bugs in realms. I don't know if it will help, but maybe if we put heaps of upvotes or similar feedback h3ere, we will at least get a response. Honestly I just don't know what else to do. Except maybe contact Joel and Johnny on spawn chunks and get them to ask Heinryck! 🙂
Just wondering if anyone on Minecraft team can give an update on this one? It is really killing the experience of new exploration in 1.18, since we are doing a huge exploration mission. naming new lands and bases as we have adventures on our realm, but we cant put any signs to record the names. Also - not being able to rename maps is surprisingly painful when you are making copies of "Map 49" to mark everything... just not as immersive as handling a Map titled "Far North" or "Wild West".
This is a real killer in our Bedrock Realm since upgrading to 1.18. I am exploring a river system and ocean with my sons & every time we exit a boat, the boat disappears - but only for the person who exits it. So long as someone else is nearby, they can still see the boat and hack it so it drops. Then the owner can pick it up. Otherwise can Save and Quit, then when logging back in can see the boat.
Fun fact - if your companion hops into your invisible boat, they turn invisible too. (To you)

I have tested renaming items in anvil, placing signs and renaming maps. All work now!
