It's not in the inventory.
I've had this problem too on iPad, 0.7.1 Buckets disappear on the map I created before 0.7.0 but not on the map that I created in 0.7.0
Quite frustrating, mining for ages to find iron, then waiting for the furnace to work, now the buckets are disappearing!

0.7.1 hasn't been released yet but when it is the problem should be fixed. Very happy they got the big guns out to fix this so quickly. Just surprised something so basic got out of development.
Same here. Very widespread and important bug. Deserves top priority. Can't make use of the new water and fire and I think cake is also impossible to make in survival mode.
Yes, you're right Carl. This is still a problem though even if you have space in your inventory, because it's frustrating having to open your inventory every time you pick up some water to find the bucket. This happens on every map for me.
