The issue has self-corrected, however I’ve included the reports anyway in case it reappears.
Following an uninstall and reinstall of the Minecraft Launcher and installing the game into a new directory (i.e. not .minecraft), the issue persists. (The launcher was uninstalled via apt and did not require logging back in when reinstalled so may not have fully uninstalled)
