  • The mouse is a Microsoft Surface Mouse. idk the specific model, and I don’t think it’s that relevant because I’ve had the issue happen with both the mouse and the keyboard, so it is not device-specific.

  • The Bluetooth adapter is a TP-Link Bluetooth USB adapter UB500

  • as mentioned in the video, going to Device Manager and going to the Power Management tab of the TP-Link adapter and unchecking “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power” does not change Minecraft’s behavior

  • no, before anyone asks: I am not willing to toggle the same setting on the mouse, I want it to go to sleep while I’m playing the game. It runs on alkaline batteries, so making it run constantly is a non-starter.

  • attached below is a recording of the issue occurring. it takes about 10 minutes for the bluetooth mouse to go to sleep. Note that this video was recorded using the current version, 1.26.5101 (26.51 in-game)

I tried to record a video, but Jira won’t let me attach it for some reason. It’s really not all that interesting.

  • I move the mouse

  • I dink around with the gamepad for 10 minutes

  • the “controller disconnected” message appears despite controller still being connected

  • I click the mouse and the “controller disconnected” message goes away
