Authorization in the official launcher stopped working for me a few days ago. The problem is manifested only when working under Windows 7, which has not been updated for a long time. I assume that Microsoft / Mojang has strengthened encryption (or replaced certificates) on https://authserver.mojang.com/ - Minecraft authorization server (you can check certificates and encryption yourself with your browser) and this was caused problem on Win7. I assume that the problem can be solved by installing KB4474419 and KB3033929, but I do not have the opportunity to check it out. However, under Windows 10 and also under Linux Gentoo, the launcher works properly. Under Windows 7, I went around the problem by using a launcher taken from the Curse / Twitch, which they use to run Minecraft. The only con of this launcher is the inability to log in using Microsoft account. But now I have a "fashionable, stylish" ancient launcher. The main thing is it's working. However, it's only until Micro$oft force everyone to migrate to M$-accounts.
