Same here. A fresh installation of Ubuntu 20.04.
I tried:
1. downloaded tar.gz
using installed open jdk 11.0.7
using manually configured OpenJDK-1.8.0.141-x86_64-bin
using manually configured jdk1.8.0_221
2. downloaded deb from https://launcher.mojang.com/download/Minecraft.deb
the installed launcher is in /opt/minecraft-launcher/
All trials led to Segmentation fault (core dumped).
I guess I'm able to provide further information - if requested - like strace run, core dump, ldd, ...
It'd be nice if someone could investigate. I'd be very happy if my son's first linux experience woudn't end up in a segfault 😉
Thank you.
