That's whats confusing to me. I have a brand new PC. A stock Windows 8 Surface Pro, fully updated and it still does not work.

I paid money for this software, so if it does not work on hardware/software which came out this year, its Minecraft's responsibility to solve the issue. You can't blame it on old hardware.

I understand the issue may not be with the Minecraft code, but its still Minecraft's responsibility to contact Oracle (Java), ATI, Microsoft, whomever to log a ticket and fix it.

I am having the same error with a brand new MS Surface PRO. It used to work, but after a recent update no longer functions.
The error occurs immediately after launching the game.
