Thanks for the help, Urielsalis. I have found the issue. The AUR version of Minecraft ships with an outdated java version bundled. The problem can be solved by putting the newest launcher on the AUR.

violine1101, as I said in the report, no log was generated, so it would be quite hard to include.

There is no update available for the Arch Linux package of the launcher, so that is not an option.
