I had the same Problem. I have hosted a multiplayer game of Minecraft for Windows and my two sons joined my world on local LAN. Last Sunday, we all logged of. This Sunday we all logged in again and both of my sons had no items in inventory or ender chests and they spawned at world spawn. We were all on version 1.20.41 and I have no mods installed, just pure standard world. Then I reloaded a backup of older version of this world from beginning of this month and as they logged in there, same happened. The update was some time ago and we definitley played already, so its not direclty due to the update. And it has been the same world, as I only play on this world for years now. Loosing this world would be a tragedy.
