Also noticed on Java 1.17.1 on Windows 10 playing on a Realm.

I think it might be something to do with path blocks adjacent to an empty block, but with a full block above the empty block, meaning there's a small gap due to the path block being ^15^⁄~16~ of a block high. The cat either spawns in the gap or tries to move through the gap and gets stuck and then dies 😞

In order to create signage viewable from a further distance, I found the following elsewhere online:

Attempting to enter various numbers of # symbols causes the sign to become blank (seemingly more than two in a row, but there seems to be some inconsistency in that).

Can confirm it's still an issue. I thought it was odd when the ink sacs I got from squids wouldn't stack with the ones I just bought from a wandering trader, but then I couldn't use them to make bacl dye either. Version 1.16.100 on Windows 10.
