Technical or not, there are similar issues around.

I have found a work around for anyone having similar issues if they can still read this,

which is to run it in Windows 7 compatibility mode.

Right click the launcher shortcut

properties

I've been playing Minecraft since December on Nintendo Switch, its now April and so far I have only ever seen 1 small slime in a cave.

I have hung out for 8 nights in  a swamp and no slimes.

I have now used a chunk finder to find a slime chunk and have created a slime farm for bedrock edition by silentwisperer and still have no slimes.

This is getting very frustrating.
