Installed the 1.13.0 update from Amazon. My controller is working as it should've been! I can move both character and camera around, place and break blocks, rebind keys, sprint, jump and fly.
Everyone, please confirm this is the case and not an isolated incidence.
Oh. Oh dear.
I was going to say there was some misunderstanding and something about controller support on Kindles, but it took me a second to register the screenshot's purpose. Not even Amazon controllers work with the game. Well, so much for that. This got on a new level of ridiculous.
@Jonathen Hanzel I just downloaded the latest version of Stardew Valley off Amazon. 1.285amazon to be precise. While it doesn't work in the settings menu and the main menu, it works everywhere else: moving around, cutting grass, switching items, accessing the inventory and navigating it, etc.
Also, I read once before that only Amazon controllers work with the game. I don't think I can find where this was said or who, but it is something to consider.
Amazon Appstore version still doesn't work with all controllers as of 1.8.0. If the Amazon version is this buggy and doesn't seem to be going to be fixed anytime soon, any way to instead claim a Google Play version with a receipt of the Amazon copy?
Again with 1.8, I want to say that this bug happened to me when exiting the End. I entered the exit portal, skipped the credits, and returned to the overworld, falling from mid-air onto the slime trampoline I set up at spawn.
This information is for the stable 1.8. I ran into this bug when reloading after killing the ender dragon. I was able to reproduce it several times in creative mode by doing the following, in the same session:
Enter the End
Leave the End
Go to sleep
Hug the "trophy" display walls shown here.
Until 1.9 is released, the death effects of the bug can be remedied by using slime blocks at spawn or by using a totem of undying. Obviously the former is cheaper and more desirable, but if you plan a trek to the End, always save and quit with a totem equipped.
Good, then it isn't just me.
