Yes I was playing with a friend. He died, I saw the zombified piglin equip the items (chestplate and sword), then he proceeded to kill me with the sword (game message was: "<player> killed by <swordname>". We then went back to the scene of the crime (there were no high ledges or anything that would be deadly to a zombified piglin) and could not find the perpetrator... I assume they despawned.
