The end dimension appears to be as though it were lit only by the light sources provided by the player. This bug messes with the aesthetics of the end and make it very difficult to see.

I assume the issue persists even if all resource packs are disabled, is that correct?
Could you also please check if the issue persists after optimizing the world?
Does the issue happen in a newly created world?
The issue persists without a resource pack. This issue does not carry over into a newly created world. The issue still remained in my world even after optimization of the save file. This may be because my world is run as a private server but I don't know if that effects the world in any way.
When I change the type in the define of dimension the_end in datapack of my server, I can make the end back to the normal light, but after I changed the type the end portal in the end will send me back to the end.
If you put an end portal at 0,~,0 in the type changed end, it will even cause a deadlock with endless loop teleport.
I am getting this in both pre-release-1 and pre-release-2. Is there a stable way of working around it?
@PraxisLP I have just been brewing night vision potions and bringing them with me to see in the end. This has worked for now but I would like this bug to be squashed soon.Â
I think the fix (if not WAI) should be toggable, at least with datapacks, because, in my opinion, a dark The End with heavy fog looks so much in place for this dimension.
Can you please provide a screenshot with the F3 screen enabled?
