Having the same issue in my world. Height does affect whether the bug is present or not, 255 as well The issue seems to happen in specific blocks only, eating clips you through the blocks affected by the bug Apparently carpets and slabs over the block that's bugged are not affected by said bug. This also applies to redstone, one redstone is placed over the block, standing on it doesn't cause any damage
