I’ve noticed this when interacting with blocks such as workstations & doors as well, and I’ve come to realize it’s because of how the attack animation is utilized.
There isn’t a generic “interaction” animation, it simply plays the punching animation, the same animation you see when attacking, mining, etc., and that’s the only such animation that has existed.
But the spear has now introduced another one, and when held, it uses that unique animation in all such cases.
I would say it’s actually the opposite, that the third person view is mirrored compared to the first person, as the first person view matches all other items in the game.
But yes, this is an issue that should be addressed, and is a very easy fix.
