Yep, bug STILL exists.
The main problem here is that Mojang has no clue whatsoever that this major bug is even in the game. Like I said before, isn't this the place to report bugs? Why are they still unaware of this problem?
There's not much else to do. They won't reply to your Twitter posts, you can try to e-mail them(I'm gonna have to try this as well) but basically you're screwed if Mojang doesn't even check the official bug-report website.

We've reported this bug, right? I mean, this is THE place to report bugs you encounter. So why is it this bug STILL remains?
I've paused on map-making for over at least 3 months now because I seriously need these potions to work am I to continue working on this map.
Perhaps I should just find another hobby and delete the map, no? Mojang obviously doesn't see very clearly if they are still adding new stuff to the game without fixing the already implemented stuff, so I might as well assume this isn't going to be fixed in the near future.
Seriously, many people have now reported this bug. What more do you need until you finally get to fixing this!?
Still not fixed? Indeed weird how this bug has lasted so long, and no mention of it in a changelog, on Twitter, or anything for that matter. But at least good to know many people have this issue, as it seems not everyone is having this problem.
Bug still exists in 1.6.1 Pre-Release.
SAME HERE! I've been searching the internet for the last hour trying to find someone else with this problem.
But yeah, it's ridiculous, creepers and skeletons all see me within the standard 16 block distance, even while invisible.
Zombies notice me from 100+ blocks away, but appearantly that's a new "feature".
Spiders don't seem to be affected by this bug.
Would be great if there was a fix for this, it currently seems like we're the only one with this game-breaking bug.
Well, sorry guys, I appreciate your good spirit but I know how to fix it myself and so does Joshua aswell, indeed. It's a very easy thing to fix, especially taken in mind it's THEIR code.
Sorry if I come off too negative for you but I'm sure you can understand how ridiculously long this issue has survived.
