Have same issue with Weeping Vines and Twisting Vines. (Solo, not realm play or anything at least) Even if you have growth of 7 block tall vine, if you break the vine of either plant in the middle all the other blocks of the vines above and below remain unaffected and will hang in midair. Makes design of any redstone farm useless.
