From this page, and I quote:

From how I read it:

  • this update is on Xbox One

  • this update include some experimental gameplay features

  • these features include the Minecraft Script Engine

Let me know if the article means differently than what I understand. Otherwise please reopen this Jira. Thanks.

And honestly I don't know if there is any other way to upload add-on to Xbox One other than through realms. E.g. there is no way to open Xbox One's AppData folder to do manual upload.

I'm glad to see your reply. Great idea there. I will give it a try when I have the luck to find a zombie spawner in my world.

Seems this only applies to weapons and tools, according to this wiki page. https://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Zombie#Drowned

Maybe the wiki page has a mistake.

 

Nevertheless, this is a great idea where I can get enchanted items. Plus the converted drowned has a chance to hold (thus drop) tridents, which is a plus. 🙂

@Ronald if it helps at all, I think yours is a problem with the (thrown) trident killers. See comments in https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MCPE-48891 for a little bit more context.

I agree with the observation that the issue might be related to thrown weapons (e.g. including arrows shot from a bow?).

I wanted to ask: is there any working automated mob grinder that meets all the following condition:

  • spawn mobs, sometimes wearing equipment, sometimes enchanted

  • player can AFK (i.e. no need to kill the mobs manually)

  • when killed, mobs drop the equipment they were wearing at non-zero rate

My understanding (and please kindly correct me if I'm wrong): I think trident killers are trying to mimic "killed by player". This type of kills will allow exp plus drops of worn equipments and some more loot I think. And these are the only reason I went with trident killers. This type of kill is different from other types like fall damage, or burnt by magna block, which are not considered "killed by player". I'd appreciate to learn if there are other type of killers which allow the above drops.

I don't think that's my problem here. I followed https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kME3fYqydbI to build the trident killer and it is killing mobs fine (the tridents never left the blocks). I'm getting all the experience and the normal drops, just not the equipments the mobs were wearing. So I believe my problem (i.e. mobs not dropping the equipments they were wearing when killed by trident killer with me nearby) is what this issue was about.

Thanks for the info that we won't know the progress until they tell us this is fixed.

BTW, I don't see 1.14.1 mentioned in the "Affects Version/s" section. Should this be updated to reflect that 1.14.1 also appears to be affected?

Quick question: Is this issue being worked on or planned to be fixed?

I'm facing the same issue here. In my mob farm, if I make them near dead and last-hit with my sword, I get enchanted equipments, etc. But if I turn on the grinder with trident, I don't get such equipments at all.
