The workaround for the freezing works for me.
Steps to close Minecraft or leave Realm without crash on Switch 1.16.20:
Press the home button
Launch YouTube instead of trying to close the app
Then close the app when YouTube prompts to do so
YouTube with close the app after a short time and then an error with show
You have now successfully closed Minecraft without a crash during the dark days of 1.16.20
I find the worst part is often closing the app on the Switch after playing in a Realm it somehow freezes the entire Switch in its own Home Screen
I have to long press the hardware power button to power cycle
Ive first experienced this restarting the application to resolve an issue where my inventory and crafting wouldnt open as if i wasnt even pressing the x or y buttons
I have reinstall the application from scratch hoping a clean reinstall would resolve the issue
This did not resolve the freezing issue.
I would imagine everyone who updates will experience this
Im happy to troubleshoot more but I cant think of how any other Switch running this build could have better results
Hi all,
Would it be 1.16.2 or 1.16.20? I would have thought Nintendo Switch would go from 1.16.1 to 1.16.10 or higher. Thank you for your time.
Regards,
Ryan
Issue: Unable to upload offline game to realm.
Version: Minecraft 1.16.1 for Nintendo Switch
Setup Required to Reproduce:
Have Nintendo Switch and Minecraft with 640 minecoins
Steps Required to Reproduce:
Create realm
Go to any save file
Click "Play on Realm"
Level export will be successful
Error An error occurred comes up
Current result: Unable to upload realm
Expected Result: Should be able to upload realms.
Notes:
Attempted to replace realm instead of "Play on Realm"
Power cycled device fully
Created a second realm to confirm it was no realm specific
Tested network connection
Changed DNS to 1.1.1.1 to rule out dns issue
Made new save file under 1MB that still would not upload
No additional resource pack other than default are added
Checked reddit and google
No work around confirmed
Some people report the issue is only intermittent but I have consistently gotten failure to upload
My location is NSW, Australia in case this is relevant
NAT type is B
Closed Realms
Found large amount of references to REALMS-474
Made account on Mojang support
Filled in a template
Voted for issue
I also experienced this issue
After some troubleshooting I found I had to make the portal within the nether and I had to try a few time to get it to link to the overworld portal
Elevation seemed to be the factor that changed the outcome
