This bug report is incomplete. It is also currently affecting linux launcher version 1.6.82-j with the same error set.
This is affecting all modded and vanilla profiles, with the sole exception of being able to launch the 1.13 snapshot 17W43.
This is now two hours after forums have reported the windows version as 'fixed', and it seems both linux and mac users are still pending an update.

The bug was fixed in windows in under 20 minutes, courtesy of Microsoft and Mojang. bug 8361 specifics the windows version of the launcher. Bug 8363 lists the MAC version as still broken, and I can confirm I am on linux, also still broken and pending update. this is now more than two hours after the windows version has been fixed, and nobody else.
@Bemoty: 8361 does not show up in my bug list, and is also unassigned and unresolved.
Also @hunter michael graham: to fix incremental cms depreciated, in your launcher profile under JVM arguments, remove the "-XX:CMSIncremental" option
@Domenico: that doesn't help. I personally run a pair of MC 1.7.10 servers i cant log into now. Many people play 1.10.2 modpacks, etc. latest snapshot is good to see some pretty new changes, but useless for anything else.
Same issue persists on Linux after an hour of the windows version being fixed. Launcher version 1.6.82-j, I am unable to load anything vanilla or modded, with the exception of the latest snapshot they released this morning. somehow, that loads fine.
@ Domenico Rotolo : Saying something will magically work, and it actually working are two different things. The 'new launcher' installs, but will not open for me. That is also a 9 month old reddit post, so it has nothing to do with the currently broken launcher version provided directly from Minecraft.net.
