Can easily reproduce, seems to be an issue because the game 'puts away' your hands when moving in a boat, preventing you from placing blocks while moving. stopping moving puts your hands back up and will not trigger the glitch when exiting the boat. However, exiting while moving will trigger the glitch. On a similar note, moving in a boat seems to move the players hand back to the point where it isn't seen. When this glitch is trigger and you hit (left click) with whatever is in your hand, the model for said item appears where your hand is, so it is barely visible.
Can confirm on the US English as well.
