Can confirm that this affects rails, flowerpots, redstone dust, buttons, pressure plates, torches and redstone torches. It does not affect paintings or item frames.
In a fresh 43c single player world portals seem fine in survival, but in creative it's rarely giving me enough time to get out of the portal before it sends me back so I get stuck in an endless loop.
