I have this bug on two unrelated servers, local game works as expected, I am running MC 1.7.5 as is the server.

The old / previous launcher allowed you to click a save password box which would allow you to have a session based login that would not keep you logged in once you closed MC. this is not the case now and is very insecure as it requires that you log off manually after you have closed MC otherwise someone else using the same PC can load MC and connect to your account and your servers without your consent.

Thanks Carl, I know you can manually log out of the client, however this needs to be an automated option, not something you have to remember to do, it makes the client highly insecure..

I am getting this exact problem, it started happening after the authentication server crashed/broke a few weeks ago, since then each time I open the launcher when it has been closed for a few hours i get this error and I have to relogin.
