I'm having the same problem on PC. Found a bell, hacked it down with pickaxe to bring it home, got home and tried to place it, only to realize it won't move from it's inventory slot. A lot of other items were glitching at the time, but a complete reboot of game and PC seems to have fixed that, but the bell is stubbornly still broken. I've spent days now trying to build this village up, I don't want to abandon the world now!
