I Hove this issue is not like those you saying, and will be solved in reasonable limits 🙂
When custom sounds don't work in custom biomes it ruins up custom world concept, because sounds = atmosphere... 

If Torch will not shine, i think it will be fixed something like "next-day" ?)

Don't forget about this issue please, many people just want their custom world to play sounds no matter by the old way or by the new way

I have sucsessed with adding standard minecraft sounds, available in vanilla 1.19.3, to custom biome by adding them to field "ambient_sound". So I heard the sound in game, but that works only with standard sounds for now...

So, Mr. Dhramios, that's really a bug and it should work? 
That's just funny because only a few weeks ago I have figured out hot to make custom biomes with custom sounds, and this method became completely useless 🙂

This bug should be fixed? Or there will be another way to make custom sounds in custom biome?

in 1.19.2 this resourcepack + datapack completely works

The problem has first appeared a long ago. Once, i remember that, "/locate village" was working, but I don't remember the version. 

No, i haven't. I always make a copy of world or launch a new one.  Actually it happened only once, and with a new world as I can remember. 

Other structures are generating well, thanks to nbt explorer. The corresponding /locate funcitons workout in 1 sec. Only villages have this problem.

Is there any debug utility to look inside the /locate function and find out what makes it frozen?

or mabye i can find some information about how exactly villages mechanism works? Where data is stored? I tryed to create a new world and add the same NBT thing to my world, but it didn't help. 

 I have also used the world optimiser in minecraft game.
