I've also been having this problem. I am on the Nintendo Switch. The game's able to tell I've been playing, but I don't get achievements.

I also haven't gotten achievements. This is across 5 worlds, over 48 hours. Not for punching wood, getting an iron pick, diamonds, anything.
And again, this is in survival, with cheats off.
