Can the mojang employees reproducing/fixing this issue please share more of what they've done to attempt to reproduce/fix the bugs so far? Like disabling villagers from despawning at all, reporting villager despawning with debug reasons, etc. I know you guys are aware, but giving more info that you tried to do something about this issue would be reassuring.

I haven't been hit with this bug after transferring my 1.12.2 world directly to 1.15.2, but I didn't stray particularly far away from the village, and I had name-tagged all my villagers too.
Perhaps a method of reproduction could be by going far away to unload the chunks of one single un-nametagged villager in a house filled with villager needs and a jobsite, on Peaceful mode; and returning back to the house to see if anything happens, then reloading the world to just before the trip and repeating it almost-exactly,
