I can confirm that this bug (closed captions disappearing before the sound event finishes) is still present in version 26.2.
Steps to reproduce:
Enable closed captions in Accessibility Settings.
Run /playsound minecraft:entity.ender_dragon.death master @s
Watch the caption overlay – it disappears well before the death sound ends.
The expected behaviour is that the caption remains visible for the full duration of the sound. This remains an accessibility issue for players who rely on subtitles.
