The Bug:

Closed captions can disappear before sound events have finished playing.

Steps to Reproduce:

Enable closed captions in your accessibility settings.
Play the ender dragon death sound by using the command provided below.
```
/playsound minecraft:entity.ender_dragon.death master @s
```
Watch your closed captions overlay closely.

Observed Behavior:

Closed captions can disappear before sound events have finished playing.

Expected Behavior:

Closed captions would disappear once sound events have finished playing.

confirmed, I noticed this a good amount of times when adding a subtitle to a music event and then playing the sound, the subtitle disappeared after 3 seconds, the sound stopped only after 5 minutes

I don't see a reason for why there should be a permanent line for a longer sound file.

because the hard hearing (not deaf) can miss the message and then think "what the heck it this sound?" 🙂

Also for deaf people, if they look away from the screen for a moment. The sound still plays but they have no idea.

I can confirm that this bug (closed captions disappearing before the sound event finishes) is still present in version 26.2.

Steps to reproduce:

Enable closed captions in Accessibility Settings.
Run /playsound minecraft:entity.ender_dragon.death master @s
Watch the caption overlay – it disappears well before the death sound ends.

The expected behaviour is that the caption remains visible for the full duration of the sound. This remains an accessibility issue for players who rely on subtitles.
