I think this is intended because it is magic and makes it easier for players to find each other by finding out in which direction you got knockback.

In my opinion 1.19.2 should still be supported since 1.19.3 broke a lot and was a bad update all in all. Anyway I don't think this issue would be fixed if the reported updated to 1.19.3.
