Sorry but you are wrong. The Minecraft Launcher is the official Minecraft Launcher and not anything modified. All the installations (previous versions of Minecraft connections) were all deleted. That's due directly from the release of 1.16.
Installations are only the versions we want to start the client under and that is POST clicking on PLAY button. I did test on a vanilla laptop and the installations on it was also removed and only 1.16 was there (which I didn't install).
We use other launchers Twitch, Technic etc for getting into those releases. This upgrade should not have deleted any previously saved installations, but it did.
yes, but I lost all the installations. I had forge, fabric and spigot installations that got wiped and replaced with 1.16 snapshot and 1.16 release.
I just checked with the 1.13.1 client and server and it no longer says "Server" and the player can add additional RPs. Any ResourcePack sent from the server will remain in the TOP most position which I believe is expected. Additional RP's will be added below it and above Default. Thanks!
I'm getting a similar netty exception but on Windows 10 Pro x64, so it appears not to be related to the O/S itself. The first time, I left the server running for a couple hours and came back and it was refusing connections. I restarted, was able to join the game and I exited the game. Then 5 minutes later, the netty exception below occurred (no players connected) and now I cannot connect to the server again.
If it helps debug this further, I'm using:
1. Java SDK 1.8.0_144 x64
2. OptiFine for Forge 1.12.2 (optifine.OptiFineForgeTweaker from OptiFine_1.12.2_HD_U_C6.jar
3. Forge Server 1.12.2 (Forge Mod Loader version 14.23.0.2487 for Minecraft 1.12.2
4. Minecraft Client 1.12.2 (1.12.2-forge1.12.2-14.23.0.2487)

Thanks for the very quick reply. I respectfully disagree with the counter statement as that itself is invalid. Blocks, Chunks and animations are at the player level, I'm talking about Java and I know for a fact this can be done as I do it every day. It is just that no one cares enough to prioritize backward compatibility for I'm sure many valid reasons like staff, effort cost, support, maintenance, etc. But thanks for your time, I'll post on the other page as suggested. 🙂
Thanks Skylinerw - I was simply going by the reported issue "Every time a player joins and entities start to load, the console is spammed with entity error spam. This can be recreated simply by joining a world. Tested on a vanilla server with no plugins, etc. Not tested on Single player on a local world. " Plus the fact that this wasn't occurring in 1.8 and only started with 1.8.8 spigot and craftbukkit. I see your point though that they are basically taking the code and manipulating the "base/vanilla code" and adding their own. I'll reach out to them and see if they have ideas on what is causing it in their latest release.
That would make sense to contact Spigot/CraftBukkit if the issue was NOT in the vanilla (base Minecraft). Because it can be reproduced without any plugins, that says it is in the base product, not a plugin. This has been true for all my 30+ years in the software industry as an engineer, qa manager and systems administrator/dba.
Could a plugin be causing additional warnings? Sure - but if it is fixed in the base product, it stands to reason with a 99% probability it will be fixed for all.

Happy New Year Everyone!
This issue appears to be marked as resolved and waiting verification, however on my server this warning started appearing only after upgrading from to 1.8.8 Spigot and CraftBukit 1.8.8 from 1.8 on both. The majority I'm seeing today is "EntityHorse" that already exists with UUID 3c7c1b5d-7955-4901-b781-459b6882bcea. Occurs about every 44 ms intervals. An odd number to repeat on, but there does appear to be some kind of a pattern. I see 10 ms intervals as well. I do have portals, but no one has tried to put any animal/entity thru one. Would like to know if where in the code this is coming from. It has to be in one or both the upgraded server code.
Thanks!
Steve
Okay - so now not only did you delete the installations with the Minecraft Launcher release of 1.16, you somehow are automatically pushing out other updates (1.16.1 showed up today). My Installations (versions) are there, but now you deleted all my multiplayer server connections. Come on guys what are you doing?
I don't appreciate you pushing out any changes to my computer without my consent first - that's just WRONG. Second, deleting our data is a breach of security and my personal information. Both should never happen. Please explain why both of these are happening and what's being done to fix them.
