I have the same issue. Devices effected = ipod x2, iPad x2, Xbox one s, Fire tablet, and an Android tablet. We can intermittently join each other's games but not more than 1 or 2 of us at a time and that is rare getting in at all.
Shows 1 friend online in the multiplayer but does not show their game below in the LAN section. We have been able to join all of these devices before this update. We have uninstalled the game on all devices and reinstalled. I have reset the router. All of our devices are current on OS software as well.
We have tried creating a brand new world to no avail as well.
