I have added a screenshot from the point were the portal in the nether would be in the overworld.

From this, the new portals and my portal are about the same distance away from it (some of the new portals are closer, but some are farther).

I have put the coordinates for the nether portals in the description (bottom).

Thanks for the quick reply!

My nether portal and the new portals are not aligned at all (the nether portal is closer to the correct portal then it is to the new portals).

I have added map screenshots to show this.

You can also click on the sides of the block, but it does not work at all if you use another scaffolding block (or I think if you click on the top); the scaffolding just falls then.

I edited out this part of the description to make it more readable (this description was made before my first comment):

"

Interestingly, placing a block (diamond block for instance) under the floating scaffolding (BY CLICKING ON THE UNDERSIDE OF THE SCAFFOLDING) will turn the floating scaffolding into the block (so a player could get unlimited diamonds).

Placing another block (stone) under the 2-block high structure (by clicking on the underside of the placed block) (in this example diamond blocks) will turn the lower block into the new block type (stone).

This pattern continues, where each block place by clicking on the underside of the previous higher block makes the higher block turning into the new block.

If the new block is not placed by clicking the old block's underside, the old block does not convert.  If the new block is destroyed and replaced by clicking on the underside of the old block, the process will continue.  Also, if the new block is placed under the floating scaffolding without clicking on the underside of the floating scaffolding, the floating scaffolding still does not support the player and won't drop if the block under is removed.

Saving and quitting the world and then opening it again will destroy the floating scaffolding with no drops.

"

I don't think this is as intended (for all mobs, not just phantoms) because I have to NOT enchant my sword with fire aspect (or bow with flame) in order to get the drops for a player kill (or I have to craft a new sword/bow without said enchantment).

This means that these enchantments are a lot like curses in this way, but ones that cost XP.

Please tell this to the devs if you can, thanks!

Ok thanks for the clarification!

If you go to far so another village generates (has to generate, not just be active), then cats will spawn in it.

I can confirm for 1.8.0.

Cats normally don't just spawn in village generation either: they can spawn after also.  <- (this is in a newly generated world, not the old one where cats don't spawn)

You can see this if you /kill @e then make more villagers (cats will spawn though it will take a while). <- (this is in a newly generated world, not the old one where cats don't spawn)

This means that this is a bug and not just the fact that the old part of the world was already generated.

Still affects 1.8, but now if you mine the block, or the block placed on the underside of it, it drops nothing at all.

I have noticed this also.

The hit-box appears to be correct, which means that it acts even more glitched since clicking on the top part of a sitting cat won't make it stand.
