Seeing that this issue was touched on during Minecon Earth 2018, this issue will not exist for much longer 😃 This entity will most likely be revamped or replaced!
This issue is still going on even in 1.9.4, We need this fixed for 1.10 😞

it used to push you before 1.8 but now it just boosts you, I hope this bug can be fixed in 1.9

This happened after 1.8 but I couldn't put down 1.8+ under versions
I think for the color of the darker wood variants of signs, the default text color should be grey or white while the text color for lighter wood variants of signs should be black.
