when the minecart furnace is pulling other minecarts, does it always disconnect at any turn in the track?

What I figure out for now is that I can't get the minecart furnace to push me from a start point, but it will pull when i link the carts together.
another thing when I do get the minecart furnace working in the middle of the track and linked to the regular minecart, I can get it to pull me, but second problem is that the two carts separates at any turn in the track. Why does that happen?

I'm sorry if I upload too many, but I'm trying to show the minecart furnace isn't working right.

where do I type it in at? I tried it in the start menu search with no results.

I don't know know where the screenshots are stored and the search option in the start menu can't locate it.

I have a similar problem, my minecart with furnace just sits in its spot and burns itself out while doing nothing. it wont push me and itself down the track.
