Had this issue just now trying to download a texture pack I'd just purchased for my daughter. Cleared a 2.3MB world and then the pack downloaded. She has one other world that's 6MB in size. This is beyond a joke.
In all seriousness this game is a mess on the Switch. Horrendous load times, constant requests to log into Microsoft accounts. Terrible performance, glitches across the board. How Microsoft/Mojang can let a product ship in this state is beyond me. This is one biggest console platforms in the world - get a grip.
I've wasted so much time working around basic issues in this game while my kids get upset and angry. They've already formed their perception of Microsoft based on this, and let me tell you it's not good.
Get your house in order and fix this product. ASAP.
